|WHAT WE DO:||The mission of Senior Assistance Center is to promote the self-sufficiency of all senior citizens in Colorado, to ensure that no senior citizen goes without the necessities of life, including food, shelter and public services.|
| HOW WE DO IT:||We assist impoverished senior citizens with emergency financial services, by preventing eviction or utilities shut-off. We have a weekly food bank to prevent hunger, and provide clothing and blankets, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and other medical equipment at no charge. We are a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization which relies on the community and foundations for donations to support our programs.|
||Colorado senior citizens aged 55 years and older with incomes at or below 130% of the poverty line or $1452 per month. Our average client monthly income is about $690.|
|LOCATED AT:||2839 W. 44th Ave Denver, CO 80211 with off street handicapped- accessible parking and located on a major bus route.|
|WHY IT WORKS:||Each year, we help over 20,000 impoverished seniors to keep them from becoming homeless or having their utilities shut off, by providing food, clothing, medical equipment and providing for other basic human needs.|
